Decluttering - Sell a Home - Watson Realty

If it's time to add your home to the list of Bakersfield homes for sale, it's time to explore a few tips to help you get the highest price for your home and encourage it to sell as quickly as possible. One trick to promote a higher selling price and speedy selling time is to declutter your home. Here are a few guidelines to follow to ensure your decluttering increases your home's appeal with potential buyers.

  1. Get Rid of as Many Things as You Can
Before you start making plans to expand your home's storage and organizational systems, begin by purging your home of items that you no longer use or that don't have a place in your life. The fewer items that you own, the easier it will be to pack things away to prepare your home to sell.

An added benefit is that you'll save money on moving expenses because your movers will have fewer things to pack and transport. You'll also have fewer items to clean, making it easier for you to keep your home tidy for open houses and showings.

Bike Trails - Central CA - Watson Realty

Central California is a great place to explore by bicycle, and fall is the perfect time for a bike ride. It's one of the things our agents love the most about life in the Bakersfield area.

We're just minutes from the Kern River, Sequoia National Forest, and the Sierra Nevada. If you're looking for an opportunity to enjoy some fantastic scenery and get a good workout this fall, you have a lot of great pathways to choose from.

  • Hart Memorial Park - Alfred Harrell Hwy, Bakersfield, CA 93308
One of Kern County's oldest parks, Hart Memorial Park was founded in 1929 and spans more than 1,000 acres, including shady picnic areas, a fishing lake, playgrounds, and several miles of multi-use trails. It's all just minutes from these Bakersfield homes for sale. Mountain bikers have many possible routes to choose from, but a perennial favorite is a 6-mile singletrack trail known simply as the "Long Loop," which encircles the park. It can be a hot, dry adventure even in fall, so be sure to bring plenty of water.

Video Tour Questions - Homebuyers - Watson Realty

Technology has revolutionized nearly all aspects of our lives, including how we can buy and sell real estate. Whether you're purchasing a home from out of state, of you'd like to remain as socially distanced as possible during your home search, virtual tours are effective ways to house hunt without leaving your own home. If you're planning to attend a virtual tour, our agents insist that you ask these six questions during a video tour.

  1. Could we see a close up of these specific areas?
When you're engaging in a video tour, you need to approach the walk-through as if you're in the house. Ask to see close-ups on various features like appliances, countertops, cabinetry, and fixtures. If you spot anything that looks damaged or dirty, ask your agent to give you a little more detail. This is especially important if certain areas of the home may require repairs. Although an inspection should catch most of these issues, it never hurts to ask your agent for their report.
