Bathroom Decluttering - Sell a Home - Watson Realty

Bathrooms are essential spaces for health and hygiene, but it can be difficult to keep them clean and organized with daily use. When our agents show new listings, buyers often see bathrooms overflowing with hair and skincare products, cosmetics, toiletries, and cleaners. Although these may be essential items for the homeowner, the only thing buyers see is clutter.

Buyers looking for Bakersfield homes for sale want to see clean, organized rooms that reflect a comfortable, inviting home. If you're thinking about selling your home, it may be time to declutter your bathroom and show potential buyers a tidy, organized space with a relaxing vibe.

  • Organize the Linen Closet
While some linen closets are in the bathroom, others may be in a nearby hallway or bedroom. Either way, you can be assured that buyers will open them to inspect the storage space. Before they do, take the time to organize your blankets, quilts, throws, bed linens, towels and washcloths, and any other items you store in your linen closet. For a fresh, inviting smell, hang potpourri on small closet hooks.

Iced Coffee - Bakersfield, CA - Watson Realty

Coffee really makes the world go 'round. As temperatures rise, though, hot coffee may not always sound appealing. Iced coffee, on the other hand, can be cool and refreshing, even on the hottest of summer days. Our agents know the best places to get coffee around Bakersfield, and we're excited to share them below.

  • Cloud 9 Coffee Company: 5060 California Ave. Ste. 130, Bakersfield, CA 93309
After a long day of looking at Bakersfield homes for sale, this is the perfect spot to refuel with some iced coffee. Cloud 9 Coffee Company opened in 2017 and is dedicated to eco-friendly practices. The shop has a living plant wall, and all of their coffee filters are recycled.

The nitro cold brew here is incredibly rich and delicious. They also offer a few iced Signature Drinks, like the Coffee Julep and Lavender Latte. If you're hungry, pair your coffee with a pastry. They're made nearby at Franco Baked. The shop also offers a few salads and sandwiches that make for a delicious lunch.

Apartment to First Home - Watson Realty

Whether it's for a new job, recent marriage, expanding family, change of scenery, or just the need for more space, becoming a first-time homeowner is one of life's exciting big moments. There's a lot to love about moving from an apartment to a house. You can remodel your house to reflect your taste, and that man cave, vegetable garden, or patio you've been dreaming of is one step closer to happening. But owning a house comes with much more responsibilities that you should be aware of to make the transition as easy as possible. Our agents have compiled a detailed apartment to house checklist to help you succeed in your exploit.

  • Notify Your Landlord
When it comes time to move out, giving your landlord advance notice is a mandatory step in the process. It's important to know what your lease says about when and how you should give notice. As a general rule, write a formal letter to your landlord at least 30 days before your planned move. The letter should include the date of your letter, the name of your landlord or property management, property address and unit number, the date you intend to move, your intention to move, and a request for knowing about your security deposit. Sign the letter and deliver it to your landlord by certified mail or in person as you pay your monthly rent.

Forestiere Underground Gardens - Watson Realty

In the ancient catacombs of Sicily, a dream and a vision were born in a young man named Baldassare Forestiere. Eventually, that vision would be realized halfway across the world in Fresno, where Forestiere created an underground garden, unlike anything that you've ever seen. Today, you can visit this unique site to experience all that Forestiere created and learn more about the fascinating man who created a masterpiece in nature. Our agents have all of the key information you need to plan a trip to Forestiere Underground Gardens.

The Fascinating History of the Underground Gardens

Baldassare Forestiere was a young citrus farmer in Sicily who immigrated to the United States in 1901 to pursue his dream of creating his own citrus farm. After acquiring his own land, he began to create what we know today as Forestiere Underground Gardens in Fresno. With nothing but simple farm tools, he carved a series of tunnels, rooms, courtyards, and catacombs underground, with gardens growing throughout the underground space. Each room features classic Roman architecture, with arches built entirely from local stone.
