Coffee Shops - Bakersfield, CA - Watson Realty

There are a lot of things our agents love about Bakersfield, CA—the beautiful mountain scenery, the rich history, the warm weather, the vibrant art and music scene. But one thing you might not know about Bakersfield is that we happen to have some of the best coffee shops around.

And since we like to start our day with a hot cup of mud as much as anyone, we thought we'd take a moment to sing the praises of our favorite Bakersfield Coffee shops. After all, National Espresso Day is coming up on November 23!

  • Dagney's Coffee Company - 1600 20th St. #3902, Bakersfield, CA 93301
A classic California coffee joint, Dagney's Coffee Company is one of the best spots in Bakersfield for gourmet coffee and rich espresso in a relaxed, laid-back setting. Beer and wine are also on the menu, as well as a great selection of baked goods and brunch staples. They have excellent outdoor seating as well. Dagney's is located a block east of the iconic Fox Theatre and a stone's throw from many Bakersfield homes for sale.

  • Cloud 9 Coffee Co. - 5060 California Ave. Suite 130, Bakersfield, CA 93309
Cloud 9 Coffee Co. started as a ramshackle operation serving coffee out of a vintage travel trailer. But they were able to move up to a permanent brick-and-mortar location based solely on the popularity of their excellent coffee and next-level customer service. Today, they occupy a hip space on California Avenue, serving some of the best espresso drinks in town. Their most popular offering by a mile is a brown sugar and white chocolate latte called a Brown & White. Order it hot or iced, with your preferred milk or milk alternative.

  • Blue Oak Coffee Roasting - 1717 20th St., Bakersfield, CA 93301
You'll be greeted by the smell of freshly roasted coffee every time you walk in to door at Blue Oak Coffee Roasting. This local roastery has perfected its craft, serving unique offerings, such as bourbon barrel-aged coffee, in a cozy space. They also pull a mean espresso. Whether your drink of choice is a cafè latte, cappuccino, macchiato, cafè breve, or Americano, you'll get a great one at Blue Oak Coffee Roasting. They also offer a simple daily menu that includes a seriously killer breakfast sandwich.

  • Cafe Smitten - 909 18th St., Bakersfield, CA 93301
What sets Cafe Smitten apart is hospitality. From the moment you stroll up to their blue painted brick storefront, you feel welcome. They also happen to have a really great cup of Joe. From silky smooth espresso drinks to rich, flavorful brewed coffee, every drink on the menu is sure to satisfy, and the warm ambiance will make you want to sit and sip a while. Cafe Smitten's menu also includes a lot of tasty breakfast and lunch fare, from baked goods, toasts, and eggs to sandwiches, soups, and salads.

  • Rig City Roasting - 4630 Easton Dr., Bakersfield, CA 93301
You can really taste the craft that goes into every cup of coffee at Rig City Roasting. With a name that pays tribute to Bakersfield's history as an oil town, Rig City Roasting focuses on small-batch coffee, all locally roasted and sustainably sourced. If you can't make it to their flagship location, they'll also ship their coffee beans anywhere in the U.S., and they offer a subscription service so you'll always get the latest and freshest coffee sent straight to your mailbox.
