Italian Restaurants for World Pasta Day - Watson Realty

World Pasta Day is Oct. 25, so why not visit a Bakersfield restaurant to enjoy this popular dish that almost everyone loves? It's been around since at least 5,000 B.C., and today is served with a variety of sauces, proteins, veggies, and other tasty enhancements.

Our agents recommend trying one of the following restaurants on World Pasta Day and heading to the others when you have a craving for delicious Italian food:

  • Frugatti's  - 600 Coffee Rd. Suite L, Bakersfield, CA 93309
Voted "Best Italian Restaurant" for three years in a row by the Bakersfield Californian, Frugatti's features pasta that's made from scratch. After all, their slogan is "Real Italian by Real Italians." The menu is loaded with pasta dishes, including those that are baked in Frugatti's wood-fired oven. Many dishes have a short anecdote underneath that explains their origins, including the story behind the popular Nonni's Pasta Al Pomodoro. It was created because a friend described a great pasta he'd had, and the owners made their own version for him. He told so many people about it that the dish earned a spot on the menu.

  • Luigi's - 725 E. 19th St., Bakersfield, CA 93305
    Luigi's
was started in 1910 as a cafe and grocery at its present location, making it one of the community's oldest continuous family-operated businesses. Different pasta dishes are featured daily to include the freshest ingredients, and they're all served with an antipasto with a roll, salami, cheese, pepperoncini, and marinated carrot. Try the Pasta Bolognese, which is made fresh daily and features a meat sauce recipe that's been in the family since the restaurant was founded.

  • Little Italy - 8200 Stockdale Hwy. Suite M6, Bakersfield, CA 93311
Tucked away in the Town and Country Shopping Center, Little Italy is a white-tablecloth, full-bar restaurant. You'll have your choice of many tasty pasta dishes, whether you prefer something simple or would like to try a myriad of flavors in one dish. For the simpler approach, order the Fettucini Alfredo, prepared with cream sauce with butter and freshly grated Parmesan. Or for a taste of many flavors, go with the Linguini Frutti de Mare, a linguini pasta prepared with shrimp, scallops, clams, squid, and mussels in a spicy marinara sauce.

  • Uricchio's Trattoria - 1400 17th St., Bakersfield, CA 93301
    Uricchio's Trattoria
has been serving pasta dishes along with other Italian favorites for over 25 years. The menu has dishes such as Linguini with White or Red Clam Sauce, which has chopped clam in your choice of sauces along with olive oil, garlic, and clam juice, and garnished with littleneck clams on the half shell. If you have dietary restrictions, ask about the restaurant's gluten-free and vegetarian pasta options.

  • Sorella Ristorante Italiano - 7900 McNair Lane, Bakersfield, CA 93313
Specializing in authentic Italian food — as well as seafood and hand-cut steaks — Sorella Ristorante Italiano has been open for nearly 30 years. The owner takes pride in using the freshest seasonal produce along with Italian olive oils, cheeses, meat, and seafood. Order a glass of wine from the restaurant's extensive list and enjoy pasta dishes like Canneloni, which consists of two homemade pasta crepes filled with meat, oven-baked, and then topped with mozzarella cheese. It comes with your choice of marinara or alfredo sauce. If you'd prefer to eat at home, try one of the to-go Family Packs that come with your choice of pasta.
