Italian Restaurants for World Pasta Day - Watson Realty

World Pasta Day is Oct. 25, so why not visit a Bakersfield restaurant to enjoy this popular dish that almost everyone loves? It's been around since at least 5,000 B.C., and today is served with a variety of sauces, proteins, veggies, and other tasty enhancements.

Our agents recommend trying one of the following restaurants on World Pasta Day and heading to the others when you have a craving for delicious Italian food:

  • Frugatti's  - 600 Coffee Rd. Suite L, Bakersfield, CA 93309
Voted "Best Italian Restaurant" for three years in a row by the Bakersfield Californian, Frugatti's features pasta that's made from scratch. After all, their slogan is "Real Italian by Real Italians." The menu is loaded with pasta dishes, including those that are baked in Frugatti's wood-fired oven. Many dishes have a short anecdote underneath that explains their origins, including the story behind the popular Nonni's Pasta Al Pomodoro. It was created because a friend described a great pasta he'd had, and the owners made their own version for him. He told so many people about it that the dish earned a spot on the menu.

Forestiere Underground Gardens - Watson Realty

In the ancient catacombs of Sicily, a dream and a vision were born in a young man named Baldassare Forestiere. Eventually, that vision would be realized halfway across the world in Fresno, where Forestiere created an underground garden, unlike anything that you've ever seen. Today, you can visit this unique site to experience all that Forestiere created and learn more about the fascinating man who created a masterpiece in nature. The Fascinating History of the Underground Gardens

Baldassare Forestiere was a young citrus farmer in Sicily who immigrated to the United States in 1901 to pursue his dream of creating his own citrus farm. After acquiring his own land, he began to create what we know today as Forestiere Underground Gardens in Fresno. With nothing but simple farm tools, he carved a series of tunnels, rooms, courtyards, and catacombs underground, with gardens growing throughout the underground space. Each room features classic Roman architecture, with arches built entirely from local stone.
